Justin Bennett was the big award winner this past Saturday as the
Antigonish Junior 'A' Bulldogs held their Annual Awards Banquet.
Bennett, a third year veteran, in his final year of junior hockey
was awarded the:
Tim Horton's "Leadership & Ability Award" (voted by team
members)
John Leroy MacDonald Memorial Award for "The Best Defenseman" Tom Landry Memorial Award for "The Most Dedicated Local
Bulldog" The Jim MacIntyre Award for "The Regular Season MVP"
Award winners of the evening included:
Travis McCarron - The Arnold Murphy Memorial Award for
"Sportsmanship & Ability" Matt Sode - The Executive Trophy in Memory of Lauchie MacIsaac
for "Most Improved Player" Jordon Landry - Mark MacDonald Memorial Award for "The
Unsung Hero" Cole Anderson - Henry's Hair Styling "Rookie of the Year"

Brandon Mullins - "Most Versatile Player Award" D.J. Herr - Team Management Award for "Dressing Room
Mannerism & Leadership"
Captain Justin Bennett also received the Community Leadership Award
sponsored by CUETS and the Bergengren Credit Union which includes a
$500 Educational Bursary. CUETS is a major sponsor for the
Maritime Junior 'A' Hockey League for 2007-2008. Presenting
Justin with the award is Donnie MacInnis of the Bergengren Credit
Union.
In a tradition that dates back over 30 years, the graduating veterans
of the hockey club receive their commemorative sticks.
Graduating players D.J. Herr, Kyle Ritchie, Andre Morell, Justin
Bennett and Mike Thomas are presented their sticks by Assistant
General manager Ryan Kearney.
Cohen MacInnis was awarded the Ethel Tobin Executive of the Year Award
for 2007-2008. Presenting Cohen with the award is long time
volunteers Ethel Tobin & Gordon MacMillan
